The quilts in this image gallery are the work of Patricia Yolande Ciricillo, artist and the wife of Professor Emeritus David Bogen. Patricia studied art quilt design with Susan Shie, Nancy Crow, David Walker, and others and has exhibited locally and nationally. She travelled extensively and her quilts reflect her inspiration with the diversity of cultures and society as well as the wonders of the natural world.
Patricia’s quilts include traditional patchwork and original designs. She has experimented with geometric designs as well as landscapes and architectural scenes. She uses traditional quilting materials, ethnic fabrics acquired during her many travels, as well as fabrics which she paints and dyes herself. Her designs are also often enhanced by gifts or exchanges of fabric from other fiber artists and embellished with beads, buttons, and trinkets gathered during her foreign travels. Her work has an abundance of symbolic content which gives each piece special meaning and evokes special memories.
Several of Patricia’s quilts, particularly those on display in the Law School, are meaningful in a legal context.
