Abstract

A film using the theme song from “The Little Mermaid” to examine the dangers of The Great Pacific Garbage Patch – an area of the Pacific Ocean created by ocean currents and composed of trash and trash particles. Experts place its size to be as much as twice the area of Texas. The area is characterized by broken down pieces of plastic, chemical sludge and other debris. Like other areas of concentrated marine debris in the world's oceans, the GPGP formed gradually as a result of marine pollution gathered by oceanic currents.
