The University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law was proud to host the Sixth Annual Capital Legal Writing Conference. Strong communication skills are critical to the success of our law students, and we appreciated this opportunity to support and assist the work of professors who teach legal research and writing.

Under the leadership of The George Washington University Law School, the first Capital Area Legal Writing Conference was held in 2011 and attracted approximately 100 participants. Since then, the Conference has continued its momentum. This Conference has a loyal group of attendees and consistently draws participants not only from area law schools, but also from legal writing programs across the country.

The Sixth Annual Capital Area Legal Writing Conference included a dynamic group of presenters from roughly 27 law schools across the country. The conference featured a keynote luncheon address by distinguished advocate and long-time clinician Michael Millemann, the Jacob A. France Professor of Public Interest Law at Maryland Carey Law.
