Narrative

This is the fourth in the series of death penalty quilts. This quilt focuses on one of the inhumane aspects of capital punishment - the isolation of the prisoner facing execution. The scraps of work clothes without an embellishment show the individual stripped down to his essence.

The image of Jimmy Carter on the reverse side reflects his work for human rights, particularly after his presidency.
