Description

While tobacco use in Maryland has declined significantly over the past 16 years, many tobacco-related health disparities remain among at-risk populations. This session will provide an overview of how local organizations collaborate to identify community needs and implement programs using effective approaches that best reach the residents they serve. Panelists from the Baltimore City Health Department and Zeta Healthy Aging Partnership (Z-HAP) will discuss their efforts to assist residents with implementing smoke-free healthy environments. Panelists from Maryland Citizens’ Health Initiative and Empowering Believers Church will discuss faith-based partnerships, including the Smoke-free Holy Grounds Initiative.
